What is the minimum specification for a phone or tablet to run the UKHab Survey App?

The UKHab Survey App should run on most contemporary devices.  However, here are a few of the key things to look out for:

  1.  With the current version of Coreo you will need a device with a Sim card so that you can access records, maps and submit data in the field. The alternative is to tether or hotspot from another device that does.
  2. Your device must have a GPS chipset.  For example, the non-cellular (Wi-Fi only) iPads do not have a GPS.
  3. Check the device’s battery life.  Look for a device that has better than average battery life. If you’re using the device all day in the field, you need to make sure that the battery will last.  Generally speaking tablets have superior battery life to phones.
  4. In terms of storage, processing speeds and RAM always aim to get the best specification you can comfortably afford. These will all enhance your experience of using the application.
